On Saturday, I’ll be walking in the Brookside St. Patrick’s Day Parade along with my friends and colleagues from the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Kansas City Homes, Plaza Office. In conjunction with the parades, my company participates in the parade committee’s “Go for the Green” fund drive to benefit Harvesters Community Food Bank. Each dollar donated to Harvesters is a chance to win a fully assembled cedar playhouse. Read my post to learn how to make a donation and enter to win the playhouse.

I am going to take a minute to brag a little bit. Today, a listing of mine sold for 100% of list price, and we received the offer within three days of listing the home online. Each year, my office has a float in both the Brookside and Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day parades. We have so much fun doing it, but part of the fun is knowing we are helping others by participating in the Harvesters Food Drive. Once again this year, we’re raising money for Harvesters by selling tickets for a chance to win a children’s playhouse.

I recently toured a beautiful Colonial home for sale in Brookside, and its unusual entryway configuration piqued my curiosity.
Heirloom Bakery and Hearth is opening in the fall of 2014. We met the owners at the Brookside Farmers’ Market, chatted with them about their plans.
While we love our old character-filled Brookside homes, so many of them are just missing those modern amenities that newer homes offer. For example, the bedrooms might be scattered on…
Cooler nights are bringing change to our backyard gardens, but the veggies are still rolling in. August and September are the best months for eating local in KC, and you’d…
