My Friday Links roundup features some cool new rugs by a famous tv personality, a book on gardening with native plants, and some thoughts on the upcoming KCMO bond initiative.
My new listing is a lovingly maintained Tudor home in Brookside with lustrous hardwoods, and a bright, open kitchen with Vetrazzo counters. Check out the photos!
The Brookside St. Patrick’s Day “Warm-Up” Parade, held on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day, is one of our favorite neighborhood traditions.
In this edition of Friday Links, we check in on a new home development in Prairie Village, and mourn the closing of one of my favorite Brookside shops.
After 12 years in our little white Brookside Cape Cottage, it is time to redecorate. Next on the list? Living room chairs. Fortunately, we found some great options at J’adore, one of my favorite neighborhood shops.
I examined some recent Brookside home sales data, looking for trends in the market. What I found is a market that remains strong.
The playground at Arbor Villa Park is currently under construction with a new playground design and all new equipment, and I couldn’t be happier. I recently contacted Erica Flad, PLA, LEED Green Assoc., who is a Senior Landscape Architect, Park Planning and Design, in the Parks and Recreation department at the city. Erica is the project manager for the Arbor Villa projet, and she shared some details about the new design with me.
On Saturday, I’ll be walking in the Brookside St. Patrick’s Day Parade along with my friends and colleagues from the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Kansas City Homes, Plaza Office. In conjunction with the parades, my company participates in the parade committee’s “Go for the Green” fund drive to benefit Harvesters Community Food Bank. Each dollar donated to Harvesters is a chance to win a fully assembled cedar playhouse. Read my post to learn how to make a donation and enter to win the playhouse.
All of a sudden, Kansas City’s favorite little charm-filled enclave of Brookside is growing and changing. Here’s a quick roundup of some of the new businesses that are now open, and news on more openings planned for the months ahead.
I am going to take a minute to brag a little bit. Today, a listing of mine sold for 100% of list price, and we received the offer within three days of listing the home online. I am especially proud because, in addition to my normal services, I also managed lighting renovations, chose colors and finishes, and then staged and styled the house.
