My Pick of the Week – A Vintage Stunner in Brookside

This is such a neat home. I know it isn’t for everyone because it is a far cry from new and modern, but I love it for what it is. It is solid as a rock, it has all brick construction with stone detail, and it has been beautifully and lovingly maintained throughout the years. It was built in 1936 and most everything is original, but it doesn’t look worn. It must be a combination of conscientious owners and a good builder. It has pink potties as I call them, and the neatest vintage kitchen with white steel cabinetry and incredible Belgian glass tile on the walls and, strangely enough, the ceiling too. There are three bedrooms upstairs and a fourth bedroom (or study) downstairs. There are plenty of bathrooms, lots of living space, a private driveway with a two car garage, etc. This property, located at 6818 Locust, is listed with my colleague Suellen Dice of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Kansas City, at a current list price of $362,500.
