My Friday Links roundup features some cool new rugs by a famous tv personality, a book on gardening with native plants, and some thoughts on the upcoming KCMO bond initiative.
Last weekend, a friend and I went shopping at Dear Society, a modern vintage boutique located in Midtown Kansas City. It’s the kind of place you can visit every week, always see something new and different, and always find at least three things you can’t live without.
My attention is usually focused on home design, kid stuff, and gardening, so this week’s link roundup is right up my alley. I hope you enjoy it, too!
In this week’s links, we learn that new requirements may be on the way for Airbnb operators in Kansas City, tour a 104-year-old home with completed energy efficiency upgrades, and a Kansas City shirtwaist home is featured on Design Sponge.
In this week’s edition of Friday Links, we get a glimpse at a local artist’s apartment, some good news from Kansas City Public Schools, big improvements on the way for Waldo and the Trolley Trail, and a famous estate goes on the market.
The Brookside St. Patrick’s Day “Warm-Up” Parade, held on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day, is one of our favorite neighborhood traditions.
This edition of my “Friday Links” post is heavy on design and decorating. We discovered a new appliance color, a world-famous blog features a local KC home, a fun design blog with local roots, and a home filled to the brim with color and pattern.
After 12 years in our little white Brookside Cape Cottage, it is time to redecorate. Next on the list? Living room chairs. Fortunately, we found some great options at J’adore, one of my favorite neighborhood shops.
The playground at Arbor Villa Park is currently under construction with a new playground design and all new equipment, and I couldn’t be happier. I recently contacted Erica Flad, PLA, LEED Green Assoc., who is a Senior Landscape Architect, Park Planning and Design, in the Parks and Recreation department at the city. Erica is the project manager for the Arbor Villa projet, and she shared some details about the new design with me.
In my 10 years as a real estate agent, and I have never seen such a frenzied real estate market in Kansas City. We are in a sellers’ market, with the number of home buyers out-supplying the inventory of available homes for sale. With homes regularly selling above list price, some sellers are wondering if they left money on the table.
