Pick of the Week: Rare Street-Level Kansas City Crossroads Loft for for Sale
A pal of mine is selling her super deluxe Crossroads Loft, and it is such a special property that I wanted to share it with you. It is not currently listed with a real estate brokerage, but she welcomes all qualified buyers and agents to inquire. The asking price is $529,000, and it located in the W Lofts development, a boutique 15-unit condominium building of all-custom units originally developed in 2005. This rare ground-floor loft-style condominium boasts an open floorplan, 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and over 2000 square feet of living space. The full details can be found on her website, but, in brief, the special features include: 3 parking spaces, a special energy efficient heating and cooling system including a pellet stove, custom storage, exposed brick, and a super cool new home automation system.
The property itself is extraordinary, but one of the most exciting features of this loft is the neighborhood and street where it is located. This block of West 18th Street is the cultural hub of the Crossroads; walk down the street any day, and you will see artists, musicians, spectacle, and interesting people, sights and sounds. This block is brimming with life and creativity, but most especially on First Fridays, during Mardi Gras, and the West 18th Street Fashion Show. You will be able to host gallery parties inside or out, because this place has not one, but two front porches.

Elyse Ostrega forwarded this to me. Very cool. My wife and I think about moving downtown. We spend a lot of time down there.

Brad,
Yes, this property is extremely cool. Just about the coolest property I have seen downtown. I know the owner and previous owner, so I have seen it go from two units to be combined into one. It is really open and spacious now, plus it has the sidewalk-level decks so you feel connected with the neighborhood. If you really are interested in moving down there, let me know if I can help you view it.
Place is absolutely gorgeous. I don’t think the love for industrial spaces is going anywhere. With small children, I don’t think I could make the change to this space. I’ve gotten too used to the comforts of the suburbs. However, if it were a different time I would kill for this space. Love it, love your KC blog!
