Pick of the Week – Well-Preserved Early 20th Century Arts and Crafts Home in Hyde Park

I had the good fortune to tour this grand old home in Hyde Park last week. Built in 1909, it is a very large three-story home built primarily in the Arts and Crafts style. The inside is incredibly well-preserved with original details and untouched woodwork at every turn. I won’t go through the whole house, but I must tell you what it is like to enter this home. Imagine you are on a lovely large limestone front porch, you go to knock on the door and are greeted with a gorgeous triple column leaded glass and wood entry. Step inside to the spacious foyer, and you see a large living room with stunning woodwork and a working fireplace, to the left is the elegant dining room with stained glass and wood pocket doors completely in tact, original light fixtures, and a stained and/or leaded glass window in every direction. It is much the same throughout the home. This is what people want. There are no cheap Home Depot bathroom remodels here, just a lovely, well-preserved extremely well-built home.

It is currently listed with my Prudential colleague, Annette LePique, for a list price of $300,000, which I feel is a great value for the size and features of the home.
