Is This the Best Bacon in Kansas City? Sampling the House Cured Bacon at the Sundry Market
There are a few food items that I am really passionate (i.e. borderline bonkers) about: croissants, bread, and bacon. In my opinion, there is nothing like the real thing when it comes to these delicacies. They must be handmade by someone who really knows their craft. So today, in my never ending search for delicious bacon, I purchased a pound of house-cured bacon from The Sundry Market & Kitchen, located at 1706 Baltimore in Kansas City’s Crossroads District. The bacon is cured and smoked in house, and comes in several flavors. The flavor I purchased was brown sugar mustard, but they also commonly have an herb de provence bacon. It’s to die for. YUM. While there, my pal purchased some groceries, and we spied a few friends happily dining over lunchtime sandwiches. What a great place – I left impressed. Care to view my bacon? I snapped some photos for ya…
The bacon looks great but those counter tops really have me drooling. Is that honed marble? Would you mind sharing where you got them?
Erin, thanks for the compliment! Yes, it is honed marble.
Gosh, I can’t remember the name of the place – it was probably five years ago now. I googled and I think it might have been Granite Tops. It wasn’t a big job so I called around and found places that had marble remnant pieces. I stopped by to look at a few, and this place had the best stone for me. I purchased the marble piece, and they came out measured and installed. It was all very easy and I’m so glad we did it. Good luck with your project!
