Window Boxes and Landscape Design for your Springtime Inspiration
Lately it seems that many of my favorite websites are posting about the thing that is on most everyone’s mind right now – getting outside and returning to the garden.
The Kansas City Library recently posted a very cool photo slideshow on Flickr featuring impressive landmark design by landscape architecture firm, Hare and Hare. I spent about 20 minutes studying these photographs and trying to figure out where they are located in the city. While you are visiting, check out the vast number of other interesting photo sets that the library has on their Flickr page.
Dressing up or adding window boxes is a great way to spruce up your home after a long, dreary winter. This slideshow from Better Homes and Gardens features many different color combinations and plant varieties for your window boxes. I always love to see the bright green sweet potato vine, but I think I might try ivy this year instead for my trailing plant.
Sarah, great advice for summer sales. Nothing screams home like a bunch of bright flowers, and with window boxes, it is not just adding external aesthetic value, but they also have a huge impact on the view from the inside!
Do you ever require your clients to make adjustments or additions like this while trying to sell a home?
No, I don’t ever “require” them to do anything. It is their money and their property, so I feel that I can make suggestions and help them prioritize, but, at the end of the day, it is their money and their decision. Lately, though, I have been re-thinking that strategy because of the tough market. It is harder and harder to sell houses, and if I don’t feel that the property is in the best shape possible, then I should probably go ahead and pass on the listing instead of spinning my wheels.
Sarah, the second image on this post is very beautiful and mind-blowing with multi-colors. I simply love them. Yes indeed the window boxes are the inspiration specially for spring, but I am sure you can have window boxes as one of the best outdoor decorations for all four seasons, you may have to choose the window boxes accordingly and do required maintenance. In between, This should be the first time I visited to your site and I found your post is very interesting. Thumbs up for the information you have shared with readers. It should inspire people who are passionate to have window boxes.
