Mid-Century Influenced Design in a Modern Ranch
If you read my blog then you know I love my mid-century ranches, and I am definitely digging this modern take on a mid-century ranch featured on Dwell.com. From what I can tell, this home is located in a milder environment than we experience here in Kansas City, so some of the energy-efficient designs might not translate specifically to our climate, nevertheless, it is a beauty. I love the integration with the outside through the use of the glass doors and the continuation of the concrete flooring (as seen in the second photo below). The interior is decidedly modern, perhaps a little too modern for my taste (says the girl with pink kitchen cabinets), however, there are aspects that I love both inside and out. What do you think?

Yeah, I don’t know if I could ever go quite that modern, but there is something very appealing about all of those beautifully clean lines. It’s very restful.
Mid-Century Influenced Design in a Modern Ranch is amazing. Love the pics.
Great house! As Re/max says mid-century design in a modern ranch is amazing and IMO they are a perfect fit for KC’s long-and-low scenery.
Queensland has pretty good weather all year round, if I had to compare KC’s weather to an Australian city it would be Melbourne: one minute they have extreme heat and the next it’s freezing, there are floods, fires, etc. Most of the homes I saw there were single-level victorian.
Here is what I think….I think I love me some Lanai! The idea of opening up a whole wall to let in the ocean breeze is paradisimo! (two cultures going on here).
