We enjoyed an unseasonably warm winter day with friends last weekend at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Photo credit: @mistersnodgrass

  1. The new issue of Kawsmouth is out, and I wanted to share a photo set of the Structures of Swope Park from one of my favorite local photographers, Jennifer Wetzel. Jennifer takes all of my real estate photos, and I love her images of the built environment. Swope Park is one of my favorite places in Kansas City. At just over 1800 acres, it is one of the largest urban parks in the nation. There is much more to see and do besides visit the zoo, and I am glad that Jennifer is reminding us.

  2. Has holiday over-indulgence led you to crave more vegetables in your life? My talented friend, Julie Lee, based in Venice Beach, CA, creates the most incredibly cool food collages. Prints of the collages are for sale on her website, Julie’s Kitchen, but if you would rather just follow along – she has a very popular Instagram feed, @julieskitchen.

  3. It is First Friday in Kansas City which means two things – art in the Crossroads and antique shopping in the West Bottoms. Not sure where to go? Thankfully, the Pitch offers up suggestions for the best gallery openings to view tonight.
