Annual Brookside Art Fair This Weekend in Kansas City

Hey Kansas City, the Brookside Art Annual is being held this weekend, Friday through Sunday (April 30-May 2). The art fair is held under the tents at 63rd and Brookside Boulevard, near the shops and restaurants in the Brookside neighborhood of town. Even if you aren’t in the market for a clay pot, it is fun to stroll around, people watch, grab a snack and run into old friends. The Art Annual website has a map of the event and a list of all participating artists. Says the Brookside Business Association website:

Dominated by quaint neighborhoods, the Brookside neighborhood becomes the center of the Midwest art community each May. The Brookside Art Annual is known for its festive atmosphere, hospitality, convenience, and has become a must-attend event for artists and art seekers alike.

One of my favorite local artists will be at booth #96, Funhouse57. I love his cartoonish, sometimes edgy paintings on weathered wood in a retro pallette. I would love one in my pink retro kitchen. Below is a piece he posted on the Brookside Art Annual Facebook page.
