A Field Trip to Bichelmeyer Meats
In preparation for my neighborhood block party this weekend, a couple neighbors and I took a trip to Bichelmeyer’s in Kansas City, Kansas today to buy pork butts. This place is so cool – fresh meat, homemade bologna, sausages… The Bichelmeyer meat market opened in 1946, and is still going strong. It is a favorite of local meat connoisseurs and a great place to pick up BBQ supplies, especially for competition BBQ teams.
Holy moly! Thanks for the tip. Been looking for a place like this.

Like Strawberry Hill Museum, the Rosedale Arch, Sunflower Golf course and the Legends

PS…Try Quick’s BBQ a few blocks away at
7th and Cheyenne Ave.
i moved to NE KS 14 yrs ago the 3 things i miss are my kids /bichelmeyers and BBQ
i havent had a decent meat pack nor BBQ meal unless i smoked it myself the kids visit but not enough
the butchers up here trim the favor out of the meat i laugh at family packs hello i had 7 kids would need 3-4 of these packs and BBQ no one gets it right and im picky about this food as my kids pointed out to me but when you grown up in kc area arent we all ! its the best !!!

J.H.-I’d just like to note that Quick’s is *directly* across Cheyenne St. from Bichelmeyer’s. So technically, they are BOTH located at 7th and Cheyenne in Kansas City, Kansas!
