Clockwise from top left, these pretty plants are parsley, oregano, kale, cilantro, broccoli, lettuce – all cool-weather crops. I am going to hold off planting warm weather crops for another couple weeks at least. It isn’t worth the risk of losing them to the cold, and the plants won’t thrive until it is warm anyway so there is no sense in rushing. My neighbor Susie planted tomatoes and cucumbers a few weeks ago and they are all dead. Plus, I just heard that we may get several inches of snow tomorrow – how bizarre!
