Kansas City Real Estate Sales Prices Rising in 2014

Now that summer is drawing to a close, there is a good sampling of 2014 real estate data to analyze. So far this year, real estate sales prices in the metropolitan Kansas City area are increasing. Strangely, Brookside does not follow this trend; year to date, prices in Brookside have declined slightly as compared with last year. I was surprised to see this deviation since demand and the actual number of homes sold in Brookside has been strong; however, there are still several months left in the year so it may turn around. To give you an overview, I have created four graphs showing data for each of these sample areas: The entire MLS region; Jackson County, Missouri; Brookside; and Prairie Village, Kansas.
