Well, this is interesting. I just stumbled upon a real estate auction listed by Cates Auction for a 9,000 square foot penthouse condominium on the Plaza in Kansas City. Located in The Walnuts, a super high-end condominium development on the south end of the Country Club Plaza, the residence will sell to the highest bidder over $1.5 million on January 30, 2015. If you aren’t familiar, The Walnuts is a premium condominium development comprised of three beautiful brick and stone high-rise buildings on the northeast corner of 51st and Wornall Rd. According to the listing, the “three stately buildings preside over a private 10-acre estate comprised of a lush treed park to the south and a perfectly manicured English garden on the north.”  Yes, 10 acres, and it really is as beautiful as it sounds. Plus, it sits across from Loose Park, one of the most beautiful parks in the city. The residence spans the entire top two floors of one of the towers, affording views in all directions from any of the many patios, balconies, or courtyards in the sky. As you can imagine, the interior is filled to the brim with too many luxuries for me to name here. Let’s just say that you should expect things like irrigated patio landscaping, upholstered walls, and gold-plated hardware.
