Picks of the Week – A Brookside Tudor and a Crestwood Modern

Of my recent home-touring, two properties keep popping back into my mind. I chose them as my picks of the week because they are well-maintained, excellent locations, they are priced fairly, and both have a nice style all their own. In the era of everyone wanting a “good deal”, I’m longing for someone to actually want a “good home”. These are both great homes.

First, a sharp, well-maintained home in the popular Brookside subdivision of Armour Hills that runs along the east side of the Trolly Track Trail, south of the Brookside shops. It has a tudor-style exterior and it has a great cozy feel inside with an updated kitchen and gorgeous original wood trim. The decor is updated and stylish, and you can tell that the owners have lovingly cared for the home. Second, a magnificent mid-century modern home in the historic subdivision of Crestwood (located between Plaza and Brookside, near UMKC). The home was built by local mid-century modern pioneer, Donald Drummond. His homes are rare and in high demand in the Kansas City area. This particular home is quite extraordinary – the best and largest Drummond I have ever seen. The current owners have renovated and modernized the home, and the result is a high-end modern masterpiece. Photo from MLS… View Listing – this home is listed with Heidi Palmer of Reece and Nichols.
