Pick of the Week – Stone English Tudor in Mission Hills

Of course I love this home – who wouldn’t? It is in one of our most beautiful, exclusive areas of the metropolitan area, and it is listed at over 1 million. I saw it yesterday on my “realtor tour” as it is a new listing for sale. As you can see in the photo at left, it looks very regal situated high on a hill overlooking the street, but the backyard is large and level which will please buyers. The first floor has a wonderful center hall plan with great flow, and plenty of space for entertaining. Also on the first floor is a happy and bright two-story vaulted sunroom that my colleague and I went gaga over. Check it out in the photos – can’t you just imagine reading or watching a rain or snowstorm in that room? All too often in million dollar homes, the decor is so overwrought and fancy that you feel like you are a bear in a museum – not so with this house; it is nice, but welcoming. When you view the photos online, be sure to check out the bannister, the fireplace mantel in the living room, and the custom plaster ceiling moldings in the shape of a cable rope in the foyer. My last favorite feature to mention is the stone exterior. Isn’t it lovely? And check out the custom ironwork on the lamp post in the photo below. What a fabulous detail.

This home is listed with Connie Curran, Reece and Nichols.
