Pick of the Week – An Affordable, Gently Modern Makeover in Mission

I recently listed a house for sale in Mission.

The owner is a professional interior designer, can’t you tell? Her color choices are sophisticated and cohesive. It is modern and fresh, but without feeling cold.

I love the kitchen with its eclectic vintage modern vibe. The super cool retro oven still works great, but she changed out all of other appliances to new stainless steel options. The green/gray cabinet color is on-trend, and I love the pop of the vibrant yellow chalkboard. Her choice of wood butcher block countertops is a great way to bring in natural materials to soften things up and bring the outside in.

The hardwoods were refinished and stained to a darker color throughout the house, and brand new hardwoods were added in the master bedroom and kitchen where none existed before. The master is separate from the other two bedrooms and has a private master bath.

The kitchen is open to an informal dining and family room area which is great for entertaining since everyone always ends up in the kitchen anyway.

Lucky for buyers, this house is located in very affordable Mission, Kansas, which is a very reasonably priced area of northeast Johnson County, Kansas. This home is priced at $167,500. Feel free to contact me for more information or view listing. And just for fun, the owner has been keeping a renovation and design blog, which has some really interesting before and after pictures of this home.
