New in Brookside: Missouri Bank opens Brookside Branch in old Star Motors Building

Architect:                 Helix
Contractor:              Haren Laughlin
Artist:                       Scott Gobber, through the Art Thru Architecture program
Why Brookside:       We want to be in neighborhoods that really care about relationship, partnership & community.  Brookside is that kind of neighborhood.  By contrast, you aren’t likely to find us at a busy intersection at 135th & Metcalf.

People are very passionate about Missouri Bank, and, though I do not bank there, I do admire their brand positioning and dedication to building relationships and focusing on certain micro-communities like the Crossroads, Prairie Village and Brookside. The Brookside branch is the newest addition, and has been open for a couple months now in the historic old Star Motors building. I love the way they kept the majority of the building intact, but added many more windows and created elegant new retail space. Missouri Bank occupies about 5,000 square feet of space, but there is room for several additional tenants, both retail and office. Notice the way the vehicle drive-through was incorporated into the center of the building and incorporates a very cool commissioned work of art by a local artist. Bravo Missouri Bank, and welcome to Brookside!
