Limping Along – May Real Estate Stats

Ugh, I don’t even have the energy to write this. Less contracts, less sales, less homes in the market, lower prices…

Johnson County, Kansas Average Sales Price – down 3.9% from last year:

  • May 2007: $262,689
  • May 2008: $252,375
Jackson County, Missouri, Average Sales Price – down 11% from last year:
  • May 2007: $145,140
  • May 2008: $129,064

Overall, the average sales price in May for the entire Heartland area was down 7% from last May. Below is a chart of the above info, along with a couple more areas that get a little bit deeper into the situation. You will see that Brookside prices are declining along with Jackson County, however; Prairie Village prices are slightly up while Johnson County’s prices are down. It really isn’t that bad – I would hate to see us compared to other areas of the country, but our market is still correcting…
