February 2009 Real Estate Sales Statistics

This is compared with stats from last year – February 2008 vs. February 2009. Prices aren’t down much at all, so I’m thinking that we may see them hold this year. Rates are below 5%, and the first time buyer tax credit is definitely getting buyers in the marketplace.

Johnson County, Kansas

• Number of sales were down 25%.
• Sales prices were down by 2.6%
• New home construction prices up 6.5% from last year.
• Inventory leveles are down from Feb, 08.

Jackson County, Missouri

• Number of sales were down 20%.
• Sales prices were down by 11%
• Inventory levels are down from Feb, 08.

Entire Heartland MLS Area

• Number of sales were down 20%.
• The average sales price was down 5.5%
