Brookside Bookshelves
What’s in your bookshelves? Right now I’m reading two books: Last Call, the Rise and Fall of Prohibition and Brideshead Revisited. I love fiction, especially the classics, children’s stories, and historical fiction. Needless to say, I had good intentions of blazing through that Prohibition non-fiction book, but I am losing steam. Nevertheless, it is a great book and is correlated to Ken Burns’ latest documentary on the subject of prohibition.
I am discussing books because lately I am dreaming of bookshelves. My house was built without bookshelves, and they would look perfect flanking the fireplace in my living room. I would love to have a proper place to keep my books, add to my collection and to display some oddities. Unfortunately, designing and constructing built-in bookshelves lies a bit outside of Mr. Snodgrass’s realm of digital expertise so if you know of an extremely talented yet reasonably priced carpenter, send him over.

Hi, Sarah! I also love books…reading them, seeing them piled up messily, the smell of library books…I could go on and on. I gave in and had to buy bookshelves because we didn’t have built in ones either, but some day I hope to have a home library for my collection. Love the photo!
My wife sent me your blog post (she follows you for the chickens). I’m a stay at home dad who sidelines as a woodworker. Built in book cases are real classy and relatively easy to do. I’d be happy to see what I can do for you.
