A Visit to Dear Society, A Modern Vintage Clothing Boutique in Midtown Kansas City

Last weekend, my pal Ladybird Styling, and I popped over to check out Dear Society, a modern vintage clothing boutique located in Midtown Kansas City. It was the perfect way to spend a chilly afternoon in Kansas City. While we love their Instagram feed and dig their style, we weren’t sure what to expect from the brick and mortar store. Turns out, Dear Society an excellent spot for a shopping date! The store had plenty of inventory; it was a good mix of new, modern, and vintage. Plus, it is light and bright, pretty, and it even smells yummy (must be the locally made candles they sell). This is a dangerous place; it’s the kind of place you can visit every week, always see something new and different, and always find at least three things you can’t live without.

The pieces are carefully curated. You can see the color palette in the photo of the interior of the shop – they definitely have a point of view, or vibe, if you will. It has that washed-out California-cool look. I loved the mix of the substantial, classic pieces – like a solid pair of vintage levis, paired with unique and modern garments and accessories. It’s the spot for hip chics. The prices are reasonable, however, do not expect to see thrift store prices here. And as an extra bonus, they often sell interesting mid-century furniture like chairs and end tables.

Dear Society is located at 3566 Broadway in Kansas City, MO.
