This home is somewhat unique for the area, because all of the systems and interior finishes are new, but with the same character we come to expect from Valentine. As a lover of historic homes, I count Valentine as one of my favorite subdivisions of Kansas City. Many beautiful turn of the century homes and early 20th century homes are located here, and you will see beautiful architecture, limestone, brick, Craftsman style shirtwaists, Foursquares, and more. The land is relatively flat, and it is a friendly treed, urban setting with sidewalks and front porches. Some of the homes are reminiscent of those found in Roanoke, but the prices more affordable. I recommend Valentine for someone who wants a large, unique, character filled home in the heart of the city. From Valentine, one can walk to the Sunfresh grocery store, the Westport entertainment district, or even the shops on 39th Street West, and downtown is just a quick ride away by car, bike or bus.

Another feature which makes this home and neighborhood attractive is the neighborhood association. The Valentine Neighborhood Association is a voluntary neighborhood association, but appears to be very active and has an excellent and informative website.
