Time Capsule Mid-Century Ranch is Sarah’s Pick of the Week

This well-preserved time capsule mid-century brick ranch is my pick of the week. With the exception of a few minor updates here and there, everything is practically original (check out that oven!). The home was built in 1960, and walking inside is like stepping back in time, hence the term, “time capsule” (coined by one of my favorite blogs, Retro Renovation).

This home sits in an area of Kansas City’s northland called Oakwood – near Vivian Rd and Highway 169 north of the river. It is just north of downtown and would make an easy commute. I’ve always loved Oakwood for the large lots and sprawling mid-century homes. The setting is beautiful; the home sits on a nearly 1.5 acre lot.

My favorite features are the family room, original marble, the funky mid-century fireplaces, the walkout basement, and the retro aqua bath tile.
