Pick of the Week – Green Modernist KU Studio 804/Dan Rockhill Home

Brand new KU Studio 804 home near KU Med was just listed for sale. This is the first time they have ever listed a new one for sale so get quick before it is snatched up! This is one of the most impressive homes I have ever been inside. It is a platinum LEED certified, off-the-grid home with a water sistern and even its own sculptural-looking windmill in the back yard. But step inside, and you quicky forget about the green qualities once you see the high-end finishes, clean lines, and contemporary decor.

Home listed by Annie Premis & Ford Kistler of Prudential.

I toured the home at their open house last month and was not impressed with the exposed electrical hardware in the upstairs loft area. The drywall/paint fit and finish was also sloppy. Do they have the wind turbine working yet?

Innovative but the polish that should be on a 300K+ home is just not there, at least when I viewed it.

Yes, when I was there a couple weeks ago the wind turbine was working, but I do question whether this house can be totally off the grid. And I feel you on the finishes, but I can still find the value here. You just can’t find homes like this in KC (or build one) for much less. It is truly a specialty home.
