Patio Homes and 12 Things You Can Learn from 1970’s (Slideshow)

Congratulations to one of my favorite bloggers, Pam Kueber with Retro Renovation Blog for being the featured retro home expert in this story on MSN Real Estate. I was most excited to learn that the idea of “patio homes” originated in the 1970’s, as seen on slide #11. Today, patio homes are still a very popular housing type wherein a monthly maintenance fee covers the cost of exterior and lawn maintenance, freeing the homeowner from this chore. Patio homes are a sort of hybrid between a home and an apartment, and are popular with people who desire low maintenance but want to retain the connection to the outdoors.
