July 2011 Residential Real Estate Statistics for the Kansas City Metro

I wish I had better news to report, but the prices and actual number of sales are both down across the metro for July 2011 as compared with July 2010. I am taking this news rather lightly, however, because last year the $8,000 First-Time Homebuyer Credit was still in effect and influencing the sales reports. Since the time that the tax credit sales concluded (September 2010), the market has been slower than recent times, but mortgage interest rates are still very low and I think it will be good for the market to adjust to a more realistic relationship with consumers and the economy.
