At Home in Brookside Travels to Florida
I just returned from my annual trip to Naples, Florida, where I visit my family every January. To keep the trip fresh, we generally try to see something new each year. This year, we visited the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary & Blair Audubon Center. We did not see an alligator (fine by me), but we did see a family of raccoons, several species of wading birds, hawks, turtles, butterflies, and a HUGE barred owl sitting in a tree. I was so excited about that owl; see if you can find him in the photo below. The guide said he was probably two feet tall!
I am now back home in Brookside, refreshed from the Florida sun, and ready to jump back into this unusually brisk local real estate market.
Beautiful pictures! So nice to see blue skies and green trees…hope you enjoyed your trip. Thanks for sharing these pics (it took me a while but I finally spotted the owl).
Alison,
Thank you for the compliment! It was extremely nice to see things like flowers, grass, and green leaves if only for a few days. It was a great pick-me-up!
Please let me know if you’re looking for a author for your site. You have some really good posts and I think I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d really like
to write some content for your blog in exchange for
a link back to mine. Please send me an e-mail if interested.
Thanks!
